Zakir Hussain, one of many world’s best tabla gamers, has died on the age of 73.
The Indian classical music icon died of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a lung illness, at a hospital in San Francisco, his household stated in a press release.
Hussain was a four-time Grammy award winner and has obtained the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award.
The son of tabla maestro Ustad Alla Rakha Khan, Hussain was a baby prodigy who carried out his first live performance on the age of seven.
